SNES art, for real this time

New/Updated SNES Art

I’ve ripped more SNES sprites. Now the cutscenes feature the SNES princess (recolored due to some palette issues) and vizier. The Vizier also appears in his armor in combat. The politician and skeleton from the SNES have been added. The shadow has a full set of combat animations. The palace art is updated to fix the visual defect when the prince runs up the stairs and a few other minor tweaks. The dungeon art has been recolored to fit the game’s palettes, spike traps are more visible, and a few minor visual glitches are fixed. The sword has been fixed so that it always shows up in the prince’s hand, even during the “got sword” animation. I also included a full new level set.

Hopefully I attached the file correctly. If not, I sent a copy to Poirot.

POPUW died somehow.

Several people are not coming here while searching for POPUW, and some even post (without seeing that there are topics about that) questioning where POPUW went…

To all those people I write this post: POPUW host (the hosting company, not Jalal) died, and Jalal currently is too busy, because of this business he could not search for a new host, re-install the site, install the backups… All that sort of time consuming stuff…

Because of that, POPUW will not come back anytime soon, so you all are invited to join our community and stick in our forums, we asked Jalal for the POPUW backup so we can merge the forums and files, but he is so busy that he could not anwser for now, so we are waiting.

We all will miss POPUW…

But at least, the POP movie is coming soon, let’s hope that it is actually good and will make us happy.

Princed forum is back

We have been a long time using external forums to contact ourselves, but as those days the community is very dispersed and a way of contact is needed to keep it alive, so the Princed Project reopened the forum with the old posts. Some changes have been made, such as the design and the upgrade to phpBB 3 (which is free software, open source under the GPL licence). We hope you enjoy it. If you have an old username in this forum, you can still log in. If you can’t remember your username or password and/or can’t access your registered mail account please contact us for password recovery.

Acquire a free @princed.org email address

The Princed Project is providing free-of-charge email address on its domain @princed.org to active members, pop fans and friends. This is ONLY for princed.org related people and game fans, so if you are not so active in the forum you should add some text about you on the observations field. Each application is manually checked by a site administrator, so please use your real full name to avoid your request to be discarded, this policy is used to filter related people with opportunistic ones. Princed project will not take any responsibility on the use of the address, so play fair dude!

By filling in this form we’ll take consideration of your email address and approve the email as soon as possible. Approval time may vary from one day to a week, depending on administrator availability and server propagation. FreePrince updates & delays

We’ve kept coding freeprince and it is now in an advanced stage, but not in an alpha state yet. Because this is not my only project and I didn’t have time (I have to finish the university too) for the last two month, the coding times are much slower than expected. This means there will be delays in the release.

In the last two month we only improved the portability (also worked in IRIX), fixed a few bugs and commented a bit more the code.

As the project has existed for more than a year, I can say it was very productive, the coding was good and the engine is very customizable. I like how the things are going and I want to code and finish my part. I think the balance is positive.
